Whew! It was the first week back and I couldn't have asked for a better first week of school! My kids are FABULOUS!! I am so excited about my class this year. This group is super sweet and willing to please.

Here's a few of the highlights:
1. We created our own selfies doing something we love! These came out so cute!
2. We learned about the Scoreboard (whole brain teaching strategy) where we earn smileys for making the teacher happy and frownies for making the teacher unhappy. If we got more smileys than frownies, we got a dance party! Guess what!? We had a Go Noodle dance party 4 out of the 5 first days of school!
3. We read some really fun books this week! We read First Day Jitters, The Night Before First Grade, David Goes to School, and First Grade Stinks! We are now experts about first grade!
4. We learned about Role Model Reggie and got to wear his necklace!
5. We helped Penelope, another student from back where Ms. Schulze used to live ;), with how to make smart choices and use four star effort!
6. We practiced following directions with partner talk, dry erase, and lining up!
7. We practiced our independent reading stamina this week and almost made it to 3 full minutes!!
8. And my personal favorite, we learned how to cheer on the LSU tigers for college football game days! GEAUX TIGERS!!
I can't wait until I have more of the photo releases and can show you some more of my new cuties!
